Official active cooler combining a large aluminium heatsink with a temperature-controlled blower fan for Raspberry Pi 5
The SC1148 is an official Raspberry Pi accessory that combines a single-piece anodised aluminium heatsink with a temperature-controlled blower fan. It is designed for owners of the Raspberry Pi 5 who want to sustain higher clock speeds during demanding workloads. The cooler mounts directly to the board using spring-loaded push pins. It is compatible with the Raspberry Pi 5 and the official Raspberry Pi 5 Case.
The heatsink is machined from one piece of anodised aluminium and the blower fan is secured to it with three screws. Pre-applied thermal pads cover the contact surfaces so no separate paste or pads are required. Spring-loaded push pins press the assembly onto the Raspberry Pi 5 PCB, giving a secure fit that survives handling and vibration. The fan connects to the board's dedicated fan header for power and speed control.
The variable-speed blower spins up only when the SoC temperature rises, keeping acoustic output low during light use. Under heavy compute tasks the airflow is directed across the full heatsink surface to move heat away from the processor. This active solution allows the Raspberry Pi 5 to maintain performance for longer periods than passive cooling alone. Power is drawn directly from the fan connector on the board.

No published specifications for this item yet.
It plugs into the fan connector on the Raspberry Pi 5, allowing the board to vary the blower speed based on CPU temperature.
Spring-loaded push pins press through the Raspberry Pi 5 mounting holes and lock the heatsink in place without tools.
Remove any protective film from the pre-applied thermal pads so they make direct contact with the SoC and other components.
