Razer Kaira for PlayStation — what it is

The Razer Kaira for PlayStation is a dual-wireless gaming headset built around 50 mm TriForce drivers that tune highs, mids and lows separately. It connects through 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth with SmartSwitch toggling, and includes a bendable HyperClear cardioid microphone with monitoring and game-chat balance. The oval FlowKnit memory-foam cushions weigh 0.71 lb and are rated for 30 hours of battery life.

Who this suits and who it does not

This headset fits players who want one device for PlayStation 5, PS4, PC and mobile, with quick Bluetooth switching via the Razer Audio app and four EQ presets including FPS and Bass modes. Buyers who need a detachable boom mic, wired USB audio, active noise cancellation or a lighter frame under 0.5 lb should look at something else.

Install ease and common issues

Pairing starts with the 2.4 GHz dongle on console or PC and the Bluetooth button for phones; the SmartSwitch button toggles sources instantly. The app handles EQ, mic monitoring and Gaming Mode latency reduction on mobile. Common friction points are initial Bluetooth pairing on Android or iOS, remembering to charge via the included cable before the first 30-hour session, and adjusting the bendable mic boom so the cardioid pattern rejects background noise correctly.

Questions about this item

Does the headset need a USB-C port for the 2.4 GHz dongle, or does it plug straight into the PS5?

The headset connects wirelessly via a 2.4 GHz USB dongle and Bluetooth; no cable is required for the console link.

Can I keep using my existing 3.5 mm wired headset on the same controller while this one is paired?

The 3.5 mm jack on the headset is for audio input only; the controller’s port remains free for another wired device.

How do I confirm the TriForce 50 mm drivers are delivering the EQ preset I selected in the app?

Cycle through the four EQ presets using the on-headset toggle — each press cycles FPS, Bass and custom profiles so you hear the change immediately.
