Razer Yellow Linear Switches

The Razer BlackWidow V4 uses Razer Yellow Mechanical Switches with a 1.2mm actuation point and 45g actuation force. Built-in sound dampeners keep each keystroke quiet while maintaining linear feel. The full-size layout includes six dedicated macro keys on the left side for extra commands. It connects via USB 2.0 and features per-key Razer Chroma RGB lighting with two-side underglow.

Magnetic plush wrist rest included

A magnetic plush leatherette wrist rest snaps securely to the keyboard for extended comfort during long sessions. Doubleshot ABS keycaps resist legend wear with extra-thick walls. A multi-function roller and four dedicated media keys provide quick volume and playback control. This configuration replaces keyboards lacking dedicated macro keys, integrated wrist support or per-key RGB with underglow.

Suits gamers wanting linear switches and macro keys

The linear Yellow switches suit players who prefer smooth, quiet actuation without tactile feedback. The six macro keys benefit MMO and MOBA players needing extra bindings. Buyers who want a compact or tenkeyless form factor should look elsewhere. Users who prefer tactile or clicky switch feedback will not find it here. Wireless connectivity is not available on this model.

Questions about this item

How much desk depth does the full-size layout with the magnetic wrist rest require?

The keyboard is a full-size standard layout and the plush leatherette wrist rest attaches magnetically to the front edge, so allow enough depth for both the chassis and the rest combined.

What is the correct way to connect the USB 2.0 cable so the multi-function roller and four media keys work immediately?

Plug the single USB 2.0 connector directly into a rear motherboard port; the roller and four dedicated media buttons are recognised by the OS without extra software, but front-panel hubs sometimes drop the HID signal.

When should I expect the doubleshot ABS keycaps or the Razer Yellow linear switches to need replacement?

The doubleshot molding keeps legends from wearing off and the Yellow switches are rated for 45g actuation at 1.2mm with built-in sound dampeners, so both are built for extended heavy use without a scheduled replacement interval.
