RCA 14 AWG speaker wire 50 ft

This RCA speaker wire uses 14 AWG gauge conductors with two parallel strands for stereo connections. The transparent jacket carries a red polarity stripe to speed up correct hook-up. It is built for home-theater and car-audio speaker runs where a 50-foot length fits the layout.

Stepping up from thinner 16 AWG cable

Moving from 16 AWG to this 14 AWG wire reduces resistance on longer speaker runs. The upgrade is worth it when the cable must cover distances that approach the full 50-foot spool or when driving lower-impedance speakers that draw more current.

Sustained load behaviour

The copper-clad aluminium conductors are rated for continuous operation between -20°C and +75°C at up to 90 volts. PVC insulation on each conductor maintains its electrical properties during extended high-volume playback without softening or degrading.

Questions about this item

What clearance is needed for the 0.136 by 0.283 inch oval profile of this 14 AWG speaker wire?

The flat oval measures 0.136 by 0.283 inches, so allow at least that much space in channels or under baseboards for the 50 ft length.

Which conductor gets connected to the positive terminal on the 2 conductor transparent cable with red strip?

The conductor marked with the red stripe is the positive lead; attach it to the red or plus terminal on each speaker and amplifier.
