16-Gauge Speaker Wire for Audio Systems
This 16-gauge speaker wire connects power amplifiers and audio receivers to speakers in home, car, school, or business environments. It suits installers who need a simple, affordable cable for stereo or surround sound setups. The wire works with bare wire connectors, banana plugs, spade connectors, and speaker pins.
74-Strand CCA Conductor with Polarity Stripe
The single specification that decides fit is the 74-strand copper-clad aluminum conductor with a .15 outer diameter and a red polarity stripe on the clear PVC jacket. This construction provides flexibility for routing and clear identification of positive and negative leads during installation.
40-Foot Length Handles Typical Room Runs
The 40-foot spool comfortably handles wiring for bookshelf speakers, surround channels, or car audio installations within a single room or vehicle. It runs out when longer whole-house runs or bi-wiring configurations require more length than the single coil provides.

Questions about this item
How does the 16-gauge thickness affect signal loss over the 40-foot run?
The 16 AWG size with 74 strands of copper-clad aluminium keeps resistance low enough for clear audio across the full 40 ft length in typical home or car installations.
What does the copper-clad aluminium construction mean for connector compatibility?
CCA conductors work with standard bare-wire terminals, banana plugs, spade lugs and speaker pins just like solid copper, so you can use any common connector type.
Will the .15-inch outer diameter fit through standard wall plates or conduit?
At .15 OD the flexible PVC jacket passes easily through most standard wall plates, raceways and vehicle door boots without forcing.
