RealTek PCIe Wi-Fi Add-On Card

This RealTek Ke11A0L001 expansion card adds wireless networking to a desktop or small-form-factor system through a Mini PCI Express slot. It targets builders who need basic Wi-Fi on a board that lacks an integrated radio.

Upgrade from missing or failed onboard Wi-Fi

The card replaces an absent or defective onboard wireless module when the motherboard still offers a free Mini PCI Express connector. The jump is worth it when a wired connection is impractical and the slot is available.

100 Mbps peak rate on 802.11b/g/n networks

The adapter delivers a maximum data rate of 100 Mbps using the 802.11b/g/n protocol set. It handles everyday browsing and streaming but runs out of headroom for large file transfers or high-density environments.

Questions about this item

Will the Mini PCI Express slot on my laptop accept this card?

Yes, the card uses a Mini PCI Express connector, so it fits any standard Mini PCIe slot.

Which antenna cables must be attached during installation, and which connector is often missed?

Connect both U.FL antenna leads — the auxiliary connector is the one most people forget.

How long before the wireless performance drops and the card needs replacing?

The 802.11b/g/n radio is rated for several years of normal use; replace it when speeds fall well below the 100 Mbps maximum.
