98-Key Wired Mechanical Keyboard

The Redragon AK992 is a 98-key wired mechanical keyboard with a USB-C connection. It uses hot-swappable Red linear switches rated for 60 million keystrokes and includes 12 function keys plus a multimedia knob. Ice-blue backlighting offers 20 lighting modes on double-shot keycaps with side light strips. Eight extra PBT keycaps in a white-grey scheme are supplied.

Suited for Typists Wanting a Compact Full Layout

The 98-key arrangement keeps the numeric pad and navigation cluster while shrinking the footprint. Hot-swappable sockets let enthusiasts swap to other three-pin switches without soldering. Buyers who need wireless freedom or per-key RGB colour mixing should look elsewhere.

Hot-Swappable Three-Pin Switch Sockets

The board accepts most standard three-pin mechanical switches, so the feel can be changed later. This single specification decides whether the keyboard matches a preference for linear, tactile or clicky feedback.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 98-key layout or a smaller version?

The keyboard ships only in a 98-key full layout measuring 39.1 by 14.2 by 4 cm; no alternative layouts are offered.

How do the red switches feel during everyday typing and gaming?

Modified red switches are linear and light, rated for 60 million keystrokes, and the hot-swappable sockets let you replace them with most three-pin switches if you prefer a different feel.

What does the USB-C connection limit in practice?

The detachable USB-C to USB-A cable requires one free USB-A port and provides wired power only; there is no wireless or Bluetooth capability.
