What it is and who it is for

The Redragon GS520 Anvil is a 2.0 channel stereo speaker set powered by USB and connected with a 3.5 mm audio cable. It delivers 3 watts RMS per satellite for desktop listening on a PC, laptop or television. The compact design suits users who want simple stereo sound without a separate subwoofer or external power brick.

Installation and common issues

Plug the USB cable into a 5 V port and the 3.5 mm jack into the headphone output; no driver installation is required. The two satellites are linked by a fixed 31 in (80 cm) cable, so desk spacing is limited to that distance. Touch-sensitive controls handle volume and six RGB lighting modes, but the surface can be accidentally triggered when moving the speakers.

Deciding specification

Total output is 3 watts RMS per channel from a USB-powered 2.0 configuration. This power level is adequate for near-field desktop use but will not fill a larger room or satisfy listeners who need higher volume or deep bass extension.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the RGB lighting bar is working after plugging the GS520 Anvil into USB?

The RGB bar on each speaker lights immediately when the USB cable is connected; tap the touch control on the rear to cycle through the six preset modes or turn the lights off completely.

What comes in the box with the GS520 Anvil and what must I provide separately?

The package includes two stereo speakers linked by a 31 in (80 cm) cable, a USB power lead, and 3.5 mm audio and microphone cables; no separate power adapter or audio source is included.

Which Redragon desktop speaker model should I choose if I want 2.0 stereo with touch RGB and 3 W total power?

The GS520 Anvil matches that spec — 2.0 channel, 3 W total output, touch-controlled RGB lighting, and USB power — while the GS550 Orpheus and GS560 Adiemus also offer RGB but at higher 5 W and 4 W outputs respectively.
