Tri-mode gaming headset

The Redragon H891 NYX PRO is a tri-mode gaming headset offering 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth and wired USB connectivity. It uses 50mm drivers with independent acoustic chambers and provides 7.1 surround sound in wireless and wired modes. A retractable microphone with active noise cancellation handles voice chat. The 1200mAh battery delivers up to 65 hours of use.

Versatile users and Xbox limits

This headset suits gamers who switch between PC, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Mac and mobile devices without changing gear. The 289g weight and memory-foam earcups support long sessions. Buyers who need native wireless audio on Xbox consoles should look elsewhere, as Xbox One is supported only through the wired USB connection.

65-hour battery life

The single specification that decides fit is the 65-hour battery life on a three-hour charge. Smart auto-sleep activates after ten minutes of inactivity to preserve power. If your gaming routine regularly exceeds this span between charges, a headset with longer endurance or hot-swappable batteries would be more appropriate.

Questions about this item

Should I use the 2.4 GHz dongle, Bluetooth or the USB-C cable for my setup?

Use the 2.4 GHz dongle for ultra-low latency on PC, PS5 and Switch, Bluetooth for mobile and casual use, and the USB-C cable for wired play or charging while gaming.

What does 7.1 surround sound actually do in a game?

Double-press the M button in 2.4 GHz or USB wired mode to enable virtual 7.1 surround for positional audio cues; the feature is not active in Bluetooth mode.

How does the 2.4 GHz link cap my audio quality and range?

The 2.4 GHz connection provides low-latency wireless audio up to 10 metres; frequency response reaches 20 KHz, and the link is limited to devices with a USB-A port for the receiver.
