ReeGee R8 Wired Gaming Mouse

The ReeGee R8 is a wired optical gaming mouse with a maximum sensitivity of 7200 DPI. It features six programmable buttons including a dedicated rapid-fire button and two side macro buttons. The mouse is designed for gamers who want adjustable sensitivity and customisable button layouts for different titles.

Software Customisation and Lighting

The bundled ReeGee R8 HUB software enables reassigning every button and creating custom keybinds or macros for gaming and productivity tasks. It allows DPI adjustment across five default levels of 500, 1000, 2000, 3000 and 4000, with a software-extended range up to 8000. Five RGB backlight modes provide dynamic lighting effects for a personalised desktop aesthetic.

Wired USB Connection Limits

The mouse connects via a wired USB interface, which restricts movement to the cable length and requires an available port on the host system. The optical sensor delivers precise tracking up to 7200 DPI, but performance on glass or highly reflective surfaces may be reduced without a mouse pad. Users who prefer a cable-free setup or need wireless freedom will find this model unsuitable.

Questions about this item

How often will the mouse feet need replacing with daily gaming use?

The frosted coating and rubber side grip resist fingerprints and wear, so the stock feet typically last through extended daily sessions before any replacement is needed.

At which DPI level does the sensor hit its tracking ceiling during fast swipes?

The optical sensor tops out at 7200 DPI, with software allowing custom steps up to 8000 DPI; beyond that the sensor cannot track reliably.

How warm does the shell get and how loud are the clicks after several hours of continuous play?

The lightweight plastic shell stays near room temperature during long sessions, and the mechanical switches produce a crisp but moderate click sound that does not increase with heat.
