Purpose-built adapter

This 18 inch cable connects Sennheiser receivers to devices that accept a 3.5 mm TRS locking plug. The TA3F balanced output on one end mates with the receiver while the locking plug secures the connection at the recorder or camera. It is built for location sound crews who need a short, reliable link between wireless gear and recording inputs.

Who it suits and who it doesn't

Sound operators using Sennheiser wireless systems with TA3F outputs will find this cable a direct fit for locked 3.5 mm microphone inputs. Users whose receivers terminate in XLR, 1/4 inch or other connector types cannot use this adapter without additional conversion. Buyers needing a longer run or a balanced TRS termination should look at a different cable.

Capacity and headroom

At 18 inches the cable keeps the signal path short, which helps minimise noise pickup on unbalanced runs between a belt-pack receiver and a nearby camera or recorder. The fixed length offers no slack for wider equipment spacing, so setups that require more reach will need an extension or a longer loom.

Questions about this item

What Sennheiser receiver must I already own for this TA3F connector to fit?

The TA3F end plugs directly into compatible Sennheiser receivers that provide a balanced TA3F output jack.

Will the 3.5 mm TRS locking plug stay secure in an older recorder with a standard 3.5 mm jack?

Yes, the locking 3.5 mm TRS plug mates with any standard 3.5 mm TRS socket and the locking collar prevents accidental disconnection.

How can I confirm the 18 inch cable is passing audio correctly after connecting it?

Monitor the recorder input meters while speaking into the transmitter; steady level indication shows the unbalanced signal path is working.
