420 W ATX power supply with reduced depth, built-in 20+4 pin adapter, 110–260 V AC switchable input and full protection suite
This 420 watt ATX power supply replaces a long list of original HP, Compaq, Bestec, Hipro, Delta and eMachine units. It fits the same mounting pattern while adding a built-in 20+4 pin adapter that works with both 24 and 20 pin motherboards. Reduced depth improves clearance in tight chassis. Input voltage is switchable between 110 and 260 volts AC.
Builders needing higher 12 volt current for modern graphics cards should look elsewhere. The unit delivers 8 amps on each 12 volt rail, which limits its use with power-hungry GPUs. Systems requiring more than three SATA power connectors will need additional adapters. It is not a general-purpose upgrade for new custom builds.
Each 12 volt rail is rated at 8 amps, giving a combined 12 volt capacity that suits legacy Pentium 4 and Core 2 era platforms. Buyers must verify their graphics card and CPU power draw against this limit before purchasing. The 3.3 volt rail supplies 11 amps and the 5 volt rail supplies 12 amps.
