Scale and purpose

This 1/32 scale model kit recreates the Bell UH-1D Iroquois "Huey" gunship helicopter in 139 detailed plastic parts. It is designed for adult hobbyists and collectors who enjoy assembling and painting military aircraft replicas. The kit includes two seated flight crew figures and offers a choice of outboard mini guns or rockets for the final configuration. Official licensing ensures accurate markings and proportions.

Assembly experience

Construction follows a Level 4 difficulty rating, demanding patience and experience with cement and paint application. Parts are moulded in Olive Drab plastic, providing a uniform base colour before finishing. Separate doors plus engine and rotor detail allow the builder to display internal components or keep the fuselage closed. Colorful decal artwork adds authentic unit markings once the airframe is complete.

Build quality and display

The assembled model measures approximately 15.75 inches long, 3.125 inches wide and 5.375 inches high, making it a substantial shelf piece. Vintage style packaging protects the sprues in the manufacturer's original unopened box. Paint and cement are required but not included, so modellers must supply their own adhesives and finishes. The kit suits display cabinets or diorama settings where its detailed rotor and engine work can be appreciated.

Questions about this item

How much bench space does the assembled 1/32 Huey need with its 15.75-inch length and 3.125-inch width?

The finished model measures roughly 15.75 inches long by 3.125 inches wide, so allow at least that footprint plus a little margin for handling while you work.

What adhesives and paints do I need to supply myself to complete the 139-part kit?

The box states that paint and cement are required but not included, so you will need plastic model cement and appropriate Olive Drab or camouflage paints before you start.

Will the Olive Drab moulded parts match the colour of older Revell helicopter kits I already own?

Parts are moulded in Olive Drab unless otherwise indicated; shade consistency with earlier Revell releases can vary, so test a spare sprue before committing to the full build.
