Rheem Professional Classic Tankless Electric Water Heater 8kW 240V

Rheem 8 kW tankless electric water heater

The Rheem Professional Classic RTEX-08 delivers on-demand hot water at 8 kW from a 240 V supply. It suits households that want to replace a storage cylinder with a compact, tankless unit. The heater activates only when a tap is opened, so energy is not used to maintain a reservoir of hot water. It is intended for point-of-use or light whole-home demand where flow rates match the 8 kW rating.

Installation requirements and space savings

The unit requires a dedicated 240 V circuit and appropriately sized wiring to handle the 8 kW load. It connects to standard hot and cold water lines and mounts on a wall, freeing the floor space a traditional tank would occupy. Because it has no storage volume, there is no standby heat loss and no risk of tank leakage. Buyers who need higher simultaneous flow or multiple outlets should consider a larger-capacity model.
