This RICHELIEU 240660 set contains 21 high-speed steel drill bits designed for do-it-yourself tasks in ferrous metals, nonferrous metals, plastic and wood. It is intended for general workshop and home repair jobs rather than heavy industrial production. The bits are not recommended for hard metals such as stainless steel.

Three-Flat Shank and Split-Point Tip

Sizes of 3/16 in (4.76 mm) and larger feature three flats on the shank to improve grip in the drill chuck and reduce slippage. Bits of 1/8 in (3 mm) and larger have a 135° split-point tip that removes the need for a centre punch and prevents the drill from walking on hard surfaces. These features help the set integrate smoothly with standard drill chucks.

Sustained Drilling in Softer Materials

Under continuous use the high-speed steel construction maintains cutting performance in wood, plastic and softer metals without the overheating issues that can affect harder alloys.
