Workgroup colour inkjet printer

The Ricoh Aficio SG 3110DN is a piezo inkjet system built for workgroup use. It prints colour and black output at up to 29 ppm with a resolution of 3600 x 1200 dpi. First page times are 5.5 seconds or less for monochrome and 7.0 seconds or less for full colour. Connectivity includes Ethernet 10 / 100BaseTX and USB.

Duplex and paper capacity

Automatic duplex printing is standard. The main tray holds 250 sheets and can be expanded to 850 sheets. Output capacity is 100 sheets face up. Supported media sizes include A4, A5, A6, Letter, Legal, Half Letter, Executive, F, Folio, Foolscap and 16 Kai, plus envelopes Com10, Monarch, C6, C5, DL and custom sizes up to 8.5" x 51" via the optional multi-bypass tray.

Network and driver setup

The printer uses standard print languages PCL 5c, PCL 6 and RPCS Raster for broad driver compatibility. Installation is straightforward over Ethernet or USB using the supplied drivers. The optional multi-bypass tray is sold separately, so buyers who need the extended custom-size range must order it as an extra accessory.

Questions about this item

How often will the piezo print head need cleaning or replacement?

The piezo inkjet system has no user-replaceable print head; routine maintenance is limited to swapping ink cartridges and clearing paper jams.

What limit appears first during continuous printing at 29 ppm?

The standard 250-sheet tray empties after roughly nine minutes at full speed, so paper refill becomes the first bottleneck.

How much heat and noise does the printer produce when running all day?

With only USB and 10/100 Ethernet active, the unit stays cool and quiet enough for a shared office; no supplemental cooling is required.
