Portable pipe threading machine cuts 1/8 to 2 inch pipe at 38 RPM with a 1/2 hp 120 V motor
The Ridgid 41855 is a portable pipe threading machine built for job-site pipe fabrication. It threads pipe from 1/8 in up to 2 in and rod from 1/4 in to 2 in. The unit runs on 120 V single-phase power and draws 15 A at 60 Hz.
A 1/2 hp motor turns the chuck at a fixed 38 RPM, giving steady torque for carbon-steel and stainless pipe within the stated range. The single-speed gearbox means throughput is constant; larger diameters near 2 in will take longer per cut and the motor will run closer to its thermal limit.
The machine replaces hand dies or smaller bench threaders when repeatable, straight threads are needed on pipe up to 2 in. It is not suited for production volumes that demand multi-speed or through-head oiling, nor for pipe sizes beyond the 2 in maximum. The bare-tool kit requires separate die heads for each size.

The machine draws 15 A at 120 V single-phase, so a dedicated 20 A circuit is recommended to avoid tripping a shared breaker.
With the motor running unloaded, count revolutions for one minute; the chuck should complete 38 full turns at the single speed setting.
The kit is a bare tool — no dies are included — so you need to purchase the required die heads for 1/2 in through 2 in pipe separately.
