Adds four 5Gbps USB 3.0 Type-A ports via a PCIe 2.0 x1 slot using a Renesas uPD720201 chipset, includes both full-height and low-profile brackets, and provides per-port over-current protection
This PCIe expansion card adds four SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Type-A ports to a desktop computer. It uses a Renesas uPD720201 chipset compliant with the PCIe 2.0 standard. The card suits users who need extra high-speed ports for peripherals such as drives, printers, or input devices. Each port delivers up to 5V/900mA power output with over-current protection.
The card installs in any PCIe x1, x4, x8, or x16 slot and includes both a full-height and a low-profile bracket for different chassis. Windows 10 and 11 support driver-free plug-and-play operation; a CD driver disk is included for older systems such as Windows 7, Vista, or XP. No external power connector is required as the card draws power from the PCIe bus.
The four ports share a total bandwidth of up to 5Gbps and support USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices at 480Mbps, 12Mbps, and 1.5Mbps respectively. UASP mode is supported with native Windows 10 and 8 drivers. The design handles multiple simultaneous low-bandwidth peripherals comfortably but will saturate when several high-throughput drives transfer large files at once.

Open Device Manager on Windows 10 or 11, locate the controller under Universal Serial Bus controllers, and verify it lists as a USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller; then transfer a large file to a USB 3.0 flash drive and check that sustained read/write speeds exceed 480Mbps.
The box contains the PCIe x1 to 4-port USB 3.0 card, a low-profile bracket, a standard-height bracket, and a CD driver disc; you only need an available PCIe x1, x4, x8, or x16 slot and no external power cable.
Use the standard bracket for full-height desktop or tower cases and the low-profile bracket for slim, SFF, or 1U server chassis; both brackets are included so you can swap them before installation.
