Adds four USB Type C ports at 5 Gbps via a single PCIe x1 slot, drawing up to 60 W total from the motherboard with no extra power cable
This PCIe x1 expansion card adds four USB 3.2 Type-C ports to a desktop PC, workstation or NAS. A single Renesas UPD720201 controller provides a shared 5Gbps bandwidth pool across all ports. The card works on AMD, ARM and Intel platforms and supports Windows 11, 10, 8.x and Server 2012 through 2022 without extra drivers.
On-board self-powered technology draws 5V/12A (60W total) from the motherboard slot, so each port can deliver 5V/3A (15W) to attached devices. No auxiliary power connector from the PSU is required, simplifying installation and leaving the PSU free for other components.
Plug-and-play operation covers current Windows and most Linux kernels, while Windows XP, Vista, 7 and Server 2003 through 2008 R2 require a driver install. macOS is not supported. The card fits any standard PCIe x1 slot and accepts USB-C keyboards, mice, storage, hubs, phones and other peripherals.

Windows 11 supports the card plug-and-play, so no separate driver is required for the Renesas UPD720201 controller.
The four ports share a single 5 Gbps lane from the PCIe x1 slot, so combined throughput never exceeds 5 Gbps.
The card draws up to 60 W total (12 A at 5 V) from the PCIe slot, providing 15 W per port for high-draw devices.
