It includes a USB-IF certified E-Marker chipset and aluminium connector shells. The braided cord is rated for over 10000 bend cycles. It suits users who need fast charging and high-speed data for laptops, monitors or external SSDs.

USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 limits

The 20Gbps transfer rate requires both host and device to support USB 3.2 Gen 2x2; slower ports will fall back to their maximum negotiated speed. Video output needs a USB-C port with DisplayPort Alternate Mode, so devices such as the 2018 iPad Pro cannot drive an external display through this cable. Thunderbolt 3 compatibility is present, but Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 speeds are not supported.

Capacity and headroom

The cable handles 20V at 5A for 100W charging, enough for most ultrabooks and many 15-inch laptops. It drives dual 4K displays at 60Hz or a single 5K panel when the host supports DP Alt Mode. It will not charge devices that demand more than 100W, nor carry 8K video or data rates above 20Gbps.
