External Power Switch for Desktop PC
This external power button connects to the motherboard headers for POWER SW, POWER LED+ and POWER LED-. It is intended for home users, computer rooms, bare-board systems and water-cooled chassis builds where the case button is difficult to reach. The switch provides a convenient remote on and off point with an integrated LED indicator.
Front-Panel Header Connection Limits
The device relies on the standard front-panel pin layout of the motherboard; it cannot operate if the required three-pin group is missing, damaged or blocked by other connectors. Cable routing must avoid moving parts and sharp edges inside the chassis. The switch adds no software control and cannot wake a system from a deep power state unsupported by the board.
Cable Length and Placement Headroom
The supplied cable measures 1.8 metres, giving enough reach to place the button on a desk or shelf while the tower sits on the floor or in a rack. At 1.7 metres the practical limit is reached for most desktop arrangements; longer runs would require an extension not included in the package. The fixed length suits typical setups but cannot span between separate rooms.

Questions about this item
What cable length should I choose for my setup?
The switch ships with a 1.8 metre cable, giving roughly six feet of reach from the motherboard headers to a convenient spot on the desk or chassis.
How does the LED behave once the switch is wired to the motherboard?
The button includes a built‑in LED that connects to the POWER LED+ and POWER LED‑ pins, so it lights when the system is on and stays off when the system is off.
Which motherboard headers does the connector use and what does that limit?
It plugs into the standard front‑panel POWER SW, POWER LED+ and POWER LED‑ pins, so it works with any board that follows the usual two‑pin power‑switch and three‑pin LED layout.
