Adds two USB 3.0 Type-A and one Type-C port via a PCIe x1 slot with a low-profile bracket, delivering up to 5 Gbps and backward compatibility with USB 2.0 and 1.1 devices
This PCIe add-in card adds two USB Type-A ports and one USB Type-C port to a desktop system. It operates at USB 3.0 speeds up to 5 Gbps and remains backward compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices. A 15-pin SATA power connector must be attached for the ports to function. The card fits PCIe x1, x4, x8 or x16 slots and includes both a standard and a low-profile bracket.
The card is supported on Windows 10 and Windows 11 with driver-free installation, and a CD driver disk is supplied for systems that need it. It suits owners of PCs, servers, workstations or NAS units that have a free PCIe slot and an internal SATA power lead. Builders using operating systems other than Windows 10 or 11, or cases without a spare SATA power connector, should look at something else.
The expansion card provides three USB 3.0 ports for keyboards, mice, speakers, KVM switches, hubs and other Type-A or Type-C peripherals. Bandwidth is shared across the three ports, so simultaneous high-speed transfers will reduce per-port throughput. The single PCIe x1 lane and the 5 Gbps USB 3.0 limit set the maximum aggregate throughput.
