Four NVMe drives on one slot

This RIITOP adapter installs in a single PCIe 5.0, 4.0 or 3.0 x16 slot and exposes four M.2 M-key sockets. The motherboard must support PCIe x16 bifurcation configured as x4x4x4x4 and the CPU must provide enough lanes. Only NVMe SSDs are accepted; SATA-based M.2 drives will not work.

Capacity and headroom

Four slots accept 2280, 2260, 2242 and 2230 form-factor NVMe drives. Each drive receives a full x4 electrical link, so every SSD can run at its rated PCIe generation speed. The card adds no controller or RAID logic; total throughput scales with the platform's lane budget and the SSDs installed.

Thermals, noise and power

The board is a passive PCB with no fan or active cooling. Heat dissipation depends entirely on case airflow and any motherboard or aftermarket heatsinks applied to the SSDs. Power draw is limited to the SSDs themselves plus negligible trace loss; the slot supplies all required power without auxiliary connectors.
