Questions about this item

Does the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi protocol cap the live-view bitrate in practice?

The doorbell connects via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi; actual live-view bitrate depends on your router, signal strength and network congestion rather than a hard cap in the device itself.

What physical clearance does the 4.98" x 2.40" x 1.10" body need for the included mounting bracket?

The bracket requires a flat vertical surface at least 4.98 inches high by 2.40 inches wide with 1.10 inches depth clearance; the kit includes screws and anchors for wood, stucco or masonry.

How is the rechargeable battery doorbell installed, and which step do people often miss?

Charge the internal battery fully via the micro-USB cable, mount the bracket, attach the doorbell, then connect to Wi-Fi in the Ring app; the step most often missed is completing the in-app Wi-Fi setup after physical mounting.
