Heavy-duty chrome antenna spring
The RoadPro RP-311HD is a heavy-duty chrome-plated steel spring designed to absorb shock and vibration for vehicle antennas up to five feet tall. It mounts between the antenna base and mast to reduce stress on the mounting surface during travel. The chrome finish resists corrosion in road-salt and weather exposure. It suits CB radio users, fleet operators and off-road drivers who need a durable flexible joint.
Thermals noise and power draw
As a passive mechanical component the spring generates no heat, draws no electrical power and produces no audible noise during operation. Its only function is to flex under wind load or impact and return the antenna to an upright position. No wiring, cooling or power-supply considerations apply to this accessory.
Upgrade path and value
This spring replaces a rigid antenna mount or a lighter spring that has fatigued, cracked or corroded over time. The jump is worthwhile when the existing mount transfers excessive vibration to the antenna base, causing loosening or breakage on rough roads. It is not suited for antennas taller than five feet or for installations that require a fixed non-flexing mount.

Questions about this item
How do I install the RoadPro RP-311HD antenna shock spring?
Screw the spring onto the antenna base and then attach the mast to the top of the spring; the step often missed is ensuring both connections are snug so the spring can flex without loosening
What maintenance or replacement will the RP-311HD need later?
Inspect the chrome-plated steel for rust or metal fatigue after extended weather exposure; replace the spring if the coils stay compressed or show cracks
What limit shows up first under sustained use?
The steel coil can take a permanent set if the antenna exceeds the recommended 5 ft length or if high winds constantly overload the 6 in spring travel
