Multiport USB-C video adapter
The Rocstor Y10A268B1 connects a USB-C laptop to one HDMI or one DisplayPort monitor, and supports MST dual-display output on Windows systems. It handles single-port video up to 8K at 30 Hz or dual 4K at 60 Hz, with HDR10+ colour and HDCP 1.4 and 2.3 compliance. No driver installation is required for basic operation.
MST dual-display and colour depth
Multi-Stream Transport mode lets Windows users drive two independent 4K 60 Hz screens from a single USB-C port, while macOS mirrors only. The adapter accepts 6, 8, 10 and 12-bit colour at RGB, YCbCr 4:4:4, 4:2:2 and 4:2:0 pixel formats, and passes DSC 1.1 or 1.2a compressed or uncompressed video streams.
Bandwidth and host requirements
Maximum resolution and refresh rate depend on the host USB-C port supporting DisplayPort Alt Mode with HBR3 link rates; ports limited to lower speeds will reduce available modes. MST spanning does not function on macOS, so dual extended desktops are unavailable on Apple hardware. HDCP-protected content requires both the source and display to negotiate the same HDCP version.

Questions about this item
Will the HDMI 2.0 or DisplayPort 1.4a ports wear out with daily plugging?
The adapter has no moving parts or user-serviceable components, so no periodic maintenance or port replacement is expected under normal use.
What resolution or refresh-rate ceiling appears first when driving two 4K monitors continuously?
In MST mode the dual-output limit is 4K at 60 Hz per display; sustained operation stays within that ceiling.
Does the adapter get hot or draw enough power to need extra cooling during all-day use?
It is bus-powered from the USB-C port with no fan or heatsink, and the supplier notes no thermal-throttling or external-power requirement for continuous operation.
