Rode SM4-R Shock Mount

The Rode SM4-R is a dual Rycote Lyre suspension shock mount built for Rode shotgun microphones. It fits both 3/8" and 5/8" threaded stands or boompoles. Four mounting points allow compatibility across the supported Rode shotgun range. An integrated cable management clip keeps wiring tidy during sessions.

Upgrade from basic clips

The SM4-R replaces standard clips or single-point mounts that transmit handling vibration to the capsule. The dual Lyre system isolates the microphone from mechanical noise far more effectively. The jump is worth it whenever boom handling, footfall or stand vibration risk contaminating a take.

Behaviour under sustained load

The Lyre suspension maintains consistent isolation over long recording periods without sagging or hardening. Cable management stays secure during repeated repositioning on set. The mount holds compatible Rode shotguns firmly through extended boom operation. Build quality supports daily professional use without degradation.
