Portrait lens for Nikon Z

The Rokinon 85mm F1.4 UMC is a manual-focus prime built for full-frame Nikon Z mirrorless cameras. Its bright F1.4 maximum aperture suits portrait and low-light photographers who prefer hands-on control of focus and depth of field. The lens covers a 28.3-degree angle of view on the Z mount.

Weather-sealed construction and handling

A weather-sealed barrel protects the nine-element, seven-group optical formula that includes a hybrid aspherical element and ultra-multi-coated glass. The 85mm focal length uses a 72mm front filter thread and ships with a removable hood. Eight curved diaphragm blades form a near-circular aperture from F1.4 to F22 for smooth background rendering.

Close-focus capability

Minimum focusing distance is 3.6 feet, allowing tighter framing than many classic 85mm designs. Buyers who need autofocus or electronic aperture communication should choose a different lens.

Questions about this item

Does the Nikon Z mount connection limit the aperture range on this manual lens?

The Z mount carries the full F1.4–F22 range; aperture is set on the lens ring and the camera reads it electronically.

What physical clearance does the 72mm front thread and included hood need in a bag?

The lens takes 72mm filters and ships with a removable hood that threads onto the same 72mm front.

How do you mount this lens on a Z body and what step do beginners miss?

Align the white mount dot on the lens barrel with the dot on the camera, twist until it clicks, then set the aperture ring to the desired F-stop before shooting.
