Portable Bluetooth Label Printer for Mobile Use

The Rongta R5 is a lightweight thermal label printer that connects to iOS and Android phones via Bluetooth. It prints 12 x 40 mm labels using direct thermal technology at 203 DPI without ink or toner. The built‑in rechargeable battery supports extended mobile operation. The device does not work with computers.

Print Width and Media Constraints

The printer accepts roll media up to 14 mm wide and 40 mm long, limiting each label to a narrow format. Only black printing is possible on standard thermal paper, though coloured label rolls are available separately. NFC detection identifies the paper size and triggers auto rewind, but fast chargers must not be used.

App‑Driven Setup with Common Pitfalls

Setup requires the R Label app: download, load the roll, pair Bluetooth inside the app, then select from over 90 fonts and 350 templates. The package includes label rolls but no charging adapter. Users who skip the app update or attempt computer connection will find the printer unusable.

Questions about this item

Which label size should I pick for the Rongta R5 printer?

The printer accepts 12 mm x 40 mm labels; the supplier also lists a 14 mm x 40 mm option, so choose the width that matches your rolls.

What does the 203 DPI print head mean for everyday labels?

At 203 DPI the R5 produces sharp black text and barcodes on thermal paper, suitable for address, pricing and organisation labels.

How does the Bluetooth connection limit what I can print from?

The R5 pairs only with the R Label app on iOS or Android; it does not support printing directly from a computer.
