USB-powered 100 ft RGB strip

The Rosewill CHARKEE strip is a 100 ft USB-powered LED light kit with 150 individual LEDs drawing 12 W at 5 V. It targets renters, students and gamers who want plug-and-play colour lighting without permanent wiring. The flexible plastic strip can be cut to length and adheres to clean, dry surfaces for bedroom, TV backlight or desk accent use.

Upgrade from single-colour or battery sets

This kit replaces fixed-colour fairy lights or short battery-operated strips that cannot sync to audio. The jump is worth it when you need music-reactive effects, 16 million colour choices and app-based scheduling across a 100 ft run. It is not for installations that require mains-voltage rope light, weather-rated outdoor runs or DMX/Art-Net integration.

Limited by USB 5 V 12 W budget

The 5 V USB supply caps total power at 12 W, so brightness across the full 150 LEDs is modest compared with mains-driven strips. Voltage drop becomes noticeable near the far end of the 100 ft reel if the strip is not fed from both sides. The Bluetooth microphone sync and IR remote only function while the controller stays powered and in range.

Questions about this item

How much surface length does the 15.75 ft strip cover when mounted?

The LED strip measures 15.75 feet in total length and can be cut at marked points to fit shorter runs, so the mounted coverage will match the length you install.

What is the correct way to prepare the surface before sticking the adhesive backing?

Clean the mounting area until it is completely dry and free of dust or grease; the high-adhesive tape will not bond properly to a damp or dirty surface.

Which part of the kit is most likely to need replacement after extended daily use?

The 5 V USB power adapter or the inline controller are the components most likely to wear out before the 150 LEDs, which are rated for long life at 12 W total draw.
