Smart RGBIC Lighting

The Rosewill H617 series is a 32.8ft LED strip light with 180 individual LEDs that display multiple colours simultaneously along a single line. It is designed for indoor decorative use in bedrooms or living spaces where dynamic colour effects are wanted. The corded 24-volt unit draws 18 watt-hours and connects via Bluetooth to the Govee Home app for control. Buyers who need outdoor-rated or Wi-Fi-enabled strips should look elsewhere.

Build Integration

The flexible plastic strip adheres to clean, dry surfaces using the pre-applied tape, so installation requires only a nearby mains outlet for the supplied power adapter. Bluetooth connectivity means no separate hub or router configuration is necessary, freeing up network ports and eliminating the need for a dedicated smart-home bridge. The integrated high-sensitivity microphone handles music synchronisation without external wiring. Ensure the mounting surface is free of dust and hair for reliable adhesion.

Bundled Extras

The Govee Home app provides 64-plus preset scenes and 11 music-sync modes that change colours in time with audio picked up by the built-in microphone. Users can create custom effects from 16 million colours and share them in the app community, while regular AI-generated theme updates add new looks without additional hardware. A timer function allows automated on/off scheduling directly from the app.

Questions about this item

What happens after the 180 LEDs run all day on the 18 watt-hour supply?

The strip draws 18 watt-hours at 24 volts, so sustained use stays within that power envelope; the 180 LEDs are rated for continuous indoor operation at the stated wattage.

How loud or hot does the 24-volt strip get during extended runs?

LED strips produce minimal heat and no audible noise; the 24-volt design keeps temperature rise low even after hours of music-sync or colour-cycling modes.

Which phone and app must I already have to control the Bluetooth-only H617C?

You need a smartphone that can run the Govee Home App and a Bluetooth radio; the strip does not support Wi-Fi or Alexa, so the app is the sole control method.
