Capacity and departments

The Royal 89395U provides 4000 price look-ups and 24 departments, giving enough headroom for a shop with a large catalogue and many product categories. Thermal printing removes the need for ink ribbons, so consumable costs stay low during high-volume days. The system will feel constrained if the business grows beyond several thousand active SKUs or requires more than two dozen reporting groups.

Clerk access and accountability

Ten clerk IDs let individual staff members log in, so each transaction is tied to a specific operator for end-of-day reconciliation. This limits disputes and simplifies shift handovers in a busy environment. Operations that run more than ten concurrent users or need role-based permissions beyond a simple ID will find the built-in structure insufficient.

Included peripherals and software

The unit ships as a complete thermal cash register; no separate printer, drawer or software licence is mentioned in the specifications. Buyers who need integrated barcode scanning, customer-facing displays or cloud-based reporting must source those add-ons separately. The thermal mechanism means only paper rolls are required for ongoing operation.

Questions about this item

Will the Royal 89395U work with my existing barcode scanner and receipt printer?

The register provides standard peripheral ports for barcode scanners and receipt printers; check your scanner and printer manuals for matching interface types.

How can I confirm the thermal printer is operating correctly after first power-up?

Run the built-in self-test — usually a short feed-and-print sequence — to verify paper advance, print clarity and cutter action.

Does the box include a starter roll of thermal paper and the clerk keys, or must I order them separately?

The package contains the register, a starter thermal-paper roll, 10 clerk keys and the power adapter; extra paper rolls and replacement keys are sold separately.
