Royal Black Racing Trac 225/45R17

The Royal Black Racing Trac is a high-performance all-season passenger tire sized 225/45R17. It carries a 94 load index and W speed rating for speeds up to 168 mph. The UTQG rating is 420AA with an A traction grade. It features an XL load range and black sidewall styling.

Drivers wanting year-round grip

Suits owners of passenger sedans and coupes needing all-season traction with a 420 treadwear rating. Not for buyers who need a run-flat design or a dedicated winter compound for severe snow and ice conditions. Also not for vehicles requiring a different rim diameter or load index specification.

Direct fit on 17-inch rims

Installation follows normal tire shop procedures for 17-inch wheels. The 7/32 tread depth is ready for immediate use. Common issues include forgetting that the rim is not included and mismatching the XL load range to the vehicle placard requirements. Always verify the 225/45R17 size matches the door placard.

Questions about this item

Will this 225/45R17 tyre fit my 17-inch rims?

Yes, the tyre is built for a 17-inch rim diameter, matching wheels with that exact bead-seat size.

Can I run these XL-rated tyres with standard-load tyres on the other axle?

Mixing XL and standard-load tyres on the same axle is not recommended; fit them in axle pairs or sets of four to keep load balance and handling consistent.

How do I confirm the tyre is performing correctly after fitting?

Check that the sidewall shows 225/45R17 94W XL, verify even tread contact across the 225 mm section width, and monitor pressure to the vehicle placard spec.
