Royal Black Touring HP 185/65R15 88H XL tire

Fitment and Purpose

The Royal Black Touring HP 185/65R15 88H XL is an all-season touring tyre built for passenger cars, family sedans, SUVs and CUVs that run 15-inch wheels. It carries a load index of 88 and an H speed rating approved for up to 130 mph, making it suited to daily commuting and motorway cruising alike.

Build and Daily Implications

A 4-ply XL construction with a black sidewall delivers the reinforced strength needed for heavier loads without a run-flat design. The 185 mm section width and 24.5 inch overall diameter match the factory specification for many popular models, so the tyre bolts straight onto the existing 15-inch rim. UTQG grades of 560 treadwear and AA traction indicate durable compound life and strong wet grip for year-round driving.

Upgrade Context and Limits

This tyre replaces worn original-equipment all-season units when the tread reaches the legal minimum or when ride quality has faded. The jump is worthwhile if the current tyres lack the XL load rating or show uneven wear from a lower ply rating. It is not intended for buyers who need a dedicated winter tyre with the three-peak mountain snowflake symbol, for fitments requiring a different rim diameter, or for vehicles that specify a higher speed rating than H.
