8.25 gal step-on bin for busy breakrooms

This Rubbermaid 284187WHI waste can holds 8.25 gallons and uses a wide foot pedal for hands-free opening. The lid stays up after the pedal is released and closes with a second press. Smooth, rounded interior corners simplify cleaning in high-traffic shared spaces.

Check floor space and pedal clearance

Verify that the intended spot has enough room for the lid to swing fully open without hitting walls or cabinets. Confirm the pedal can be reached comfortably and that the white plastic finish suits the area’s aesthetic. The unit ships six per carton, so plan storage for any extras.

Steady performance under continuous use

The stay-open mechanism keeps the lid raised during repeated disposal tasks, reducing pedal cycles in rush periods. Rounded corners prevent waste buildup and allow quick wipe-downs between shifts. Plastic construction resists dents and corrosion from daily general-waste loads.
