Freestanding Cigarette Receptacle

The Rubbermaid Commercial 257088BLA is a 1 gal cigarette receptacle designed for outdoor smoking areas. Its pyramid shape and black finish suit building entrances, breakroom patios and designated smoking zones. The unit arrives new and ready to place without assembly.

Restricted-Opening Waste Collector

This model replaces open ashtrays or sand-filled urns that allow litter and wind-blown debris. The restricted opening hides butts, controls unwanted deposits and reduces oxygen flow to lower fire risk. The jump is worth it when a site needs a tidy, weather-resistant collector that needs no sand.

Galvanised Steel Liner Under Load

A moulded plastic exterior surrounds a galvanised steel interior canister with a stainless steel base. The metal liner resists corrosion from cigarette waste and cleaning agents during daily emptying. The weather-resistant plastic shell maintains its shape and colour through continuous outdoor exposure.

Questions about this item

How much flat ground space does the 12.25 inch square base require?

The pyramid-shaped unit sits on a 12.25 by 12.25 inch footprint, so allow at least that much level surface plus a little clearance for the lid to open.

Which part do I lift to empty the galvanized steel liner, and how is it released?

The black plastic shell lifts straight off the stainless steel base; the inner galvanized steel canister then pulls out for emptying without tools.

Does the galvanized steel liner ever need replacing, and what wears it out?

The liner is corrosion-resistant galvanized steel and has no moving parts; under normal outdoor use it lasts the life of the receptacle.
