Dual-Action Floor Sweeper

The Rubbermaid Commercial 421388BK is a mechanical carpet sweeper built for bare floors and low-pile carpets. It uses boar and nylon bristle brush rolls to capture dust, dirt and larger debris in a single pass. The 42-inch handle and 7.5-inch sweep path suit commercial breakrooms, offices and retail aisles. No power source or batteries are required.

Manual Operation Limits

Because the sweeper is entirely mechanical, it relies on the operator's pushing force and cannot deep-clean high-pile carpet or extract embedded stains. The dual debris pans hold a modest volume, so frequent emptying is necessary in high-traffic areas. Wet spills, sticky residue and fine dust on uneven surfaces fall outside its effective range. Protective bumpers guard walls but do not eliminate the need for careful steering.

Simple Assembly and Care

The flat-fold handle reduces storage space and clicks into place without tools. One-touch cleaning doors open the debris pans for quick emptying over a bin. Galvanized steel and ABS plastic construction resists corrosion, yet the bristle rolls can trap hair and fibres that must be removed by hand. Rough handling may bend the steel handle or crack the plastic housing, so store the unit upright and avoid excessive downward pressure.

Questions about this item

Should I choose the 7.5-inch sweep path or a wider model for large breakrooms?

The 7.5-inch path covers ground quickly in tight aisles while the flat-fold handle stores flat on a shelf.

How does the 7.5-inch sweep path perform on low-pile carpet versus bare floors?

Dual boar and nylon brush rolls grab large debris and fine crumbs on both surfaces without scattering.

Does the 42-inch steel and plastic handle telescope or lock at a fixed length?

The handle is a fixed 42-inch length and folds flat for compact storage.
