Side-Mount Auto Flush Kit

The Rubbermaid Commercial FG401187A is a touch-free flushing system designed for commercial toilets. It automates the flush cycle to keep fixtures presentable and reduce cross-contamination in high-traffic washrooms. The kit includes the side-mount assembly, four C batteries, installation hardware and documentation. It is ADA compliant and finished in polished chrome.

Battery Life and Flush Limits

The system runs on the included C batteries for up to three years or 100000 flushes before replacement is needed. A manual courtesy flush button provides a backup option if the sensor fails or the batteries are depleted. No mains power or wiring is required, so the unit operates independently of the building electrical supply.

Retrofit Installation and Common Issues

The kit retrofits onto existing side-mount flush valves using the supplied hardware, avoiding the need to replace the valve body. Installers must verify that the existing valve mounting pattern matches the kit dimensions. Sensor misalignment or low battery voltage are the most frequent causes of missed flushes after installation.
