12-Gallon Step-On Waste Container

The Rubbermaid RCP 6144 BEI is a 12-gallon step-on container built for hands-free sanitary waste management. Its all-plastic construction resists punctures and stands up to daily indoor use. A quiet, heavy-duty pedal operates the lid smoothly for hygienic disposal. The unit measures 23 inches in height and features a beige finish.

Suited for medical and high-traffic areas

This container fits patient rooms, lab procedure rooms and emergency rooms where medical waste originates. The tight-fitting overlapping lid and slow-close damper help contain odors and limit bacteria escape. It assists facilities in meeting OSHA regulation requirements for waste handling. Buyers needing outdoor durability or larger capacities should consider other options.

12-gallon capacity drives the choice

The 12-gallon volume determines how much waste the bin holds before emptying. This size suits standard indoor breakroom and clinical workflows. Verify that this capacity matches your facility's disposal frequency and space constraints. The 23-inch height also dictates whether the unit fits under counters or in designated alcoves.

Questions about this item

How loud is the pedal and lid when the RCP 6144 BEI is used repeatedly during a shift?

The heavy-duty pedal is designed for quiet operation and the integrated lid damper provides a slow-close action, minimising noise during frequent use.

Does the 12 gal step-on container need any separate liners or mounting hardware to function?

It operates as a freestanding unit with the built-in pedal and overlapping lid; liners are optional and no extra hardware is required for basic use.

Will the 23 inch beige container fit alongside older Rubbermaid waste bins in a shared breakroom?

Its all-plastic construction and neutral beige colour match existing Rubbermaid Commercial products, so it integrates visually and functionally with older units.
