250 W server power supply with 24-pin and 4-pin ATX connectors plus three SATA power leads for compatible systems
This 250W TFX power supply is built for compatible Dell OptiPlex and Precision small-form-factor servers and desktops. It delivers 250 watts of continuous power through a non-modular cable set that includes a 24-pin ATX connector, a 4-pin ATX connector, one 4-pin Berg floppy connector and three 15-pin SATA power connectors. The unit operates on a wide 100-264V input range with passive power-factor correction.
Passive power-factor correction keeps the internal circuitry simple and avoids the switching noise associated with active PFC stages. Under typical office or file-server workloads the supply draws only the power the system components require, staying within the 250W rating while the fan runs at lower speeds. The 100-264V universal input allows deployment on 120V or 230V mains without manual voltage selection.
During prolonged operation the fan speed ramps to maintain safe internal temperatures inside the original TFX chassis airflow path. The fixed cable bundle ensures consistent contact resistance across the 24-pin, 4-pin and SATA rails so voltage regulation remains stable over extended periods. Builders needing modular cables, higher wattage or active PFC should select a different form-factor unit.

Slide the TFX form-factor unit into the 220S bay, secure the four mounting screws, then attach the 24-pin ATX, the 4-pin ATX and the three 15-pin SATA power leads; the 4-pin ATX plug is the one most builders forget.
The internal fan is the only moving part; plan to clean dust from its intake every 6-12 months and replace the fan if bearing noise appears, otherwise the supply itself has no user-serviceable components.
Passive PFC draws higher input current at low line voltage, so the 8 A limit on the 100-120 V range is reached before the 250 W output rating, making thermal derating the practical ceiling under sustained load.
