12 Gb/s SAS RAID controller for server storage

This controller provides eight SAS ports operating at 12 Gb/s each. It is designed for servers that need direct drive connectivity. The card works in IT mode so the operating system manages the drives directly. It suits administrators building JBOD or software RAID arrays.

Low-profile bracket enables dense chassis

A low-profile bracket is included so the card fits 1U and 2U rackmount servers. This hardware change lets the controller sit in shallow slots without blocking airflow. The bracket screws onto the existing mounting holes. No extra cables or adapters are required for standard installations.

Questions about this item

Will the PCIe bracket or the SAS connectors need replacement after extended server use?

The card uses a standard PCIe bracket and eight internal SAS ports; neither has a published service interval, so replacement is only required if physical damage occurs.

What throughput ceiling appears first when all eight ports run sustained 12 Gb/s traffic?

The aggregate bandwidth of the eight 12 Gb/s SAS lanes becomes the limiting factor before the PCIe host link saturates.
