Power delivery

The Ruth's sister LA330PM190 is a 330W AC adapter that supplies 19.5V at 16.92A to compatible Dell Alienware and Precision laptops. It accepts a 100-240V 50-60Hz input and includes a power cord with EU, US, UK or AU plug options.

Thermals and noise

The unit is a cable extender type adapter with no internal fan, so it runs silently during operation. Heat is dissipated passively through the enclosure while delivering the rated 330W output to the connected laptop.

Connector fit

The barrel connector measures 7.4mm by 5.0mm with a centre pin, matching the ADP-330AB B and D series parts listed for Alienware 18, M18X, R1, R3, R5, X51 and Precision M4800, M6700, M6800 models. Buyers whose laptops require a different plug size or lower wattage cannot use this adapter.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the 7.4*5.0mm centre-pin plug to my Alienware M17X, and what step is often missed?

Align the centre pin with the laptop socket, push firmly until the barrel clicks, then plug the IEC C5 power cord into the adapter before connecting to mains.

Which part of the LA330PM190 will need replacement first, and how can I delay it?

The IEC C5 power cord and strain reliefs wear first; avoid sharp bends near the connectors and unplug by the body, not the cable.

At what point does the 330W adapter hit its thermal limit during continuous 19.5V 16.92A load?

The unit is rated for full 330W output at up to 40 °C ambient; sustained loads above that temperature trigger internal overtemperature protection.
