Rollover wiring limits direct PC use
The cable follows the rollover pinout used by Cisco and similar console ports. It cannot connect two standard Ethernet devices or serve as a straight-through patch lead. A USB-to-serial adapter is required if the host computer lacks a native DB9 COM port.
