USB 5V to 12V Boost Cable 100cm
This USB step-up cable converts a standard 5V USB-A source into a regulated 12V output through a 5.5x2.1mm barrel jack. It is built for users who need to power 12V peripherals such as routers, cameras or LED strips from a power bank or USB charger. The 100cm length gives flexible placement without excess clutter.
Replaces bulky 12V wall adapters
The cable removes the need for a dedicated mains adapter when a suitable USB port is already available. The upgrade is worthwhile when the USB source can deliver at least 2A at 5V, enabling up to 1.2A at 12V, or 3A at 5V for 1.5A at 12V. It is not for devices that draw more than 12 watts or for setups where the USB supply cannot maintain the required input current.
Limited by USB input current and 12W ceiling
Output current scales with the USB port capability: 5V 2A yields 12V 1A, 5V 3A yields 12V 1.2A, and 5V 4A yields 12V 1.5A. The converter must not exceed 12 watts total, so higher-voltage loads are unsupported regardless of the source. Built-in protections cover reverse polarity, over-current, over-temperature and short-circuit conditions.

Questions about this item
What size DC jack does the 5.5x2.1mm output connector fit?
The cable terminates in a 5.5x2.1mm barrel plug that matches the standard jack found on many routers, cameras and LED strips.
Which USB port rating is needed to get the full 12V 1.5A output?
A USB-A source that can supply 5V 4A is required; lower-rated ports will limit the boost converter to 1.2A or 1A depending on available current.
Does the integrated protection circuit need any user maintenance?
No, the built-in reverse-polarity, over-current, over-temperature and short-circuit safeguards are self-resetting and require no servicing.
