Wireless TV headphones with 2.4 GHz RF

The Rybozen over-ear headphones use a 2.4 GHz digital RF link that reaches up to 160 feet or 50 metres from the transmitter. They connect to televisions, computers or game consoles through optical, RCA or 3.5 mm audio outputs. The set includes a charging dock that doubles as the transmitter base.

Practical limits of the 2.4 GHz RF link

The wireless range works through walls and does not require line of sight, yet the signal cannot pass through every building material. Dolby and DTS bitstreams are not supported, so the source device must output PCM audio when using the optical connection. The headphones are incompatible with televisions that lack functional audio output ports.

Upgrade from wired or Bluetooth listening

This system replaces a long wired cable or a Bluetooth pair that introduces noticeable latency. The 18 hour battery life and automatic dock charging remove the need for frequent manual recharging. The jump is worthwhile for viewers who want private, lag-free TV audio without running cables across the room.

Questions about this item

What does the 18-hour battery life mean for daily use?

The rechargeable Li-ion batteries deliver roughly 18 hours of listening per full charge and top up automatically when the headphones sit in the transmitter dock.

How does the 2.4 GHz RF link perform around walls?

The 2.4 GHz digital RF connection reaches up to 160 feet or 50 metres and works even when the headphones are not in direct sight of the transmitter.

Which audio outputs on my TV can I use with the 3.5 mm, RCA and optical ports?

The transmitter accepts optical (SPDIF), RCA and 3.5 mm AUX outputs; set TV optical audio to PCM because Dolby DTS is not supported.
