Compatible Windshield for ME66 K6

The Rycote 18cm foam windshield is designed for the Sennheiser ME66 microphone paired with a K6 power supply. It slips over the shotgun capsule to reduce unwanted noise during field recording. Streamers and content creators using this specific microphone combination gain a dedicated wind-protection accessory.

18cm Length with 19-22mm Standard Hole

This windshield measures 18cm long and accepts a standard hole diameter between 19mm and 22mm. The dimensions match the ME66 with K6 housing so the foam seats securely without tape or adapters. Buyers with microphones outside this diameter range cannot use this windshield.

Up to 20dB Attenuation Under Sustained Wind

Open-cell acoustic foam delivers up to 20dB of pop and wind-noise suppression during continuous outdoor use. The material also shields the capsule from harmful UV exposure over long sessions. It maintains consistent attenuation without the high-frequency loss common in dense fur covers.

Questions about this item

How much wind and pop noise does the 18 cm foam actually cut when it is on the ME66?

The open-cell foam is rated for up to 20 dB of attenuation, so strong gusts and plosives are reduced by that amount before they reach the capsule.

The spec lists a 19 to 22 mm hole range — what does that cover in practice?

That diameter range matches the barrel of the Sennheiser ME66 with its K6 power module, allowing a secure slip-on fit without tape or adapters.

Will the 18 cm length clear the end of the ME66 and K6 combination?

At 18 cm (7.08 in) long, the windshield fully covers the interference tube and the attached power supply, leaving no exposed grille.
