Designed for Shure MV88

The Rycote Mini Windjammer is a slip-on synthetic fur cover built specifically for the Shure MV88 camera microphone. It targets outdoor content creators, broadcasters and documentary filmmakers who need reliable wind protection without altering the microphone's tonal balance. The cover fits the MV88 directly and works with portable recorders that share the same form factor.

Verify microphone model first

Confirm that the microphone in use is the Shure MV88 before ordering, because the Windjammer is tailored to that exact profile. No other Shure model or third-party microphone is referenced in the design data, so fit cannot be assumed for any different device. Check the product identifier 55477 on the packaging to ensure the correct variant is supplied.

Maintains clarity in sustained wind

The synthetic fur uses Rycote's exclusive fur technology to isolate wind noise continuously during long outdoor sessions. High-frequency detail remains virtually unaffected even when gusts persist, so dialogue and ambient sound stay clear without the muffling typical of lesser covers. Performance is consistent across changing weather conditions.
