Rycote Single Ristretto Windjammer Gray for Lavalier Microphones

Rycote Single Ristretto Windjammer Gray

The Rycote Single Ristretto Windjammer in Gray is a compact fur cover designed for lavalier microphones. It reduces wind noise and plosives during outdoor recording while keeping a low visual profile. The accessory fits a wide range of lavalier models from major brands. It is built from durable materials for long-term professional use.

For outdoor broadcast and interview use

This windjammer suits broadcast professionals, film crews and presenters who need discreet wind protection for lapel microphones in open-air conditions. It is not intended for studio-only recordings where wind is absent. Users requiring protection for larger diaphragm or handheld microphones should look elsewhere. The shorter fur length prioritises on-camera discretion over maximum wind attenuation.

Shorter fur length for visual discretion

The defining specification is the reduced fur length compared to traditional windjammers, which minimises on-camera visibility while still suppressing wind noise. This design choice directly determines whether the accessory meets the balance of discretion and audio clarity required for broadcast interviews. Buyers needing the highest possible wind reduction for extreme conditions should consider standard-length alternatives.
