Rycote Softie 5cm Wind Diffusion

The Rycote Softie is a long-hair wind diffusion cover designed for quick push-on-pull-off use in field recording. It fits a range of microphones including the AKG CK1, CK63, and 460 models, Azden SGM-1x, Neumann KM100 and KM184, and Sennheiser ME62 and ME64. This accessory targets professionals and amateurs capturing audio outdoors where wind noise is a concern.

5cm Length with Medium Hole Fit

The cover measures 5cm (1.96") in length and features a medium-sized hole for a snug fit on compatible microphones. This specific dimension and hole size are the critical specifications that determine whether the Softie will mount securely on your microphone model. Selecting the correct length and hole size from the eight lengths and three hole options ensures proper wind protection without blocking the capsule.

Field-Ready Microphone Accessory

The Softie slides directly onto supported microphones without tools, freeing you from modular windshield systems while retaining most of their wind protection. It is built for ENG-style workflows where rapid deployment matters. Buyers needing a fixed-installation windshield, a larger blimp system, or a different hole diameter for unsupported microphones should consider other solutions.
