Front Pod for Super-Shield Kits

The Rycote Super-Shield Front Pod Medium 10422 is a lightweight basket windshield accessory designed for medium Super-Shield kits. It provides high-quality protective isolation for shotgun microphones during challenging recording conditions. The system uses a minimum number of parts for simple operation and configurable balance.

Compatibility with Super-Shield Kits

Verify that your existing setup uses a medium Super-Shield kit before ordering this front pod. The accessory is specifically engineered to complement that kit size and attaches via a twist lock to the central suspension chassis ring. It will not fit other windshield systems or different Super-Shield kit sizes.

Integration and Performance Benefits

Once installed, the pod envelops the microphone, connector, and suspension to create an isolated air volume. Flexible grey plastic netting and specialized screening material reduce wind noise while maintaining minimal high-frequency loss. A removable fur Windjammer adds the highest level of wind suppression when required.
